It was discovered that trichloroethylene (TCE) is present at a concentration of 500 mg/L beneath a former dry cleaning site. You are considering in situ bioremediation to remove this contamination. The following are available for use: (Molar ratio C:N:P = 120:10:1) Acetate, Ethanol, Air, NO3-, (NH4)2SO4, Na3PO4·12H2O (a) What factors need to be assessed first to see if in situ bioremediation is possible at this site? Note any assumptions you made. (b) Assuming bioremediation is possible under the given conditions, choose a bioremediation strategy to remove the contamination and calculate the amount of reagent(s) you would need to supply. Be able to justify your choices.
